Cigless Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy describes how BBXLabs ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Cigless mobile application ("Cigless" or the "App"), published on the Apple App Store and Google Play. The short version: Cigless stores your data locally on your device, requires no account, and we never sell your data. The free version displays ads via Google AdMob; Premium removes all ads.

01About Cigless

Cigless is a personal quit-smoking companion and tracking tool. It helps you track your smoke-free streak, log cravings, view health recovery milestones, journal your journey, and stay motivated. It is not a medical device, smoking cessation program, or health solution. The health recovery timeline is based on public WHO and CDC data for educational purposes. Always consult a licensed healthcare professional for advice about smoking and health.

02Data we store

  • Quit date & streak: the date you quit smoking and your smoke-free progress.
  • Craving logs: timestamps, intensity, triggers, and location of cravings you log.
  • Journal entries: your personal reflections and notes.
  • App settings: language, theme, cigarette details (price per pack, cigarettes per day), and similar configuration.
  • Statistics: cigarettes avoided, money saved, and time regained — derived from your quit date and settings.

All of the above is stored locally on your device using the App's local database. It does not leave your device unless you explicitly use an export feature.

03Data we do not collect

  • We do not require an account, email address, or phone number to use the App.
  • We do not collect your name, address, or any contact details.
  • We do not read, view, or have access to the contents of your logged data.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
  • We do not use cloud sync or server storage for your quit-smoking data.

04Advertising (free version only)

The free version of Cigless displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads, subject to Google's privacy policy and Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.

  • iOS: If you grant ATT tracking permission, AdMob may use your advertising identifier (IDFA) to deliver personalized ads. If you deny ATT permission, AdMob serves only contextual (non-personalized) ads. You can revoke ATT permission at any time in iOS Settings → Cigless.
  • Android: AdMob may use the Google Play Advertising ID to deliver personalized ads, subject to your device's ad personalization settings. You can reset or opt out of the Advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads. On Android 13+, the Privacy Sandbox controls ad personalization.
  • Premium users see no ads at all. Upgrading to Premium disables all advertising.

05Third-party SDKs and services

5.1 Firebase Analytics

  • What it collects: anonymous usage events (app launches, screen views, feature usage), approximate device location (country-level), and an app-scoped device ID.
  • Purpose: to understand which features are used and to improve the App.
  • Linked to you: yes, via device ID.
  • Used for tracking: no.
  • Quit-smoking data: never sent to Firebase.

5.2 Firebase Crashlytics

  • What it collects: crash logs, stack traces, and performance metrics.
  • Purpose: to identify and fix crashes and performance issues.
  • Linked to you: yes, via a Crashlytics installation ID.
  • Used for tracking: no.
  • Quit-smoking data: never sent to Crashlytics.

5.3 RevenueCat (purchases)

  • What it collects: an anonymous app user ID, purchase history, subscription status, and entitlements.
  • Purpose: to manage subscriptions, restore purchases, and unlock Premium features.
  • Linked to you: yes, via app user ID.
  • Used for tracking: no.
  • Payment details: never — payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Billing; RevenueCat only receives transaction confirmations.

06Optional integrations

6.1 Home screen widgets

Cigless's home screen widgets show your smoke-free streak and progress directly on your device's home screen. This information is read from the App's local database and is not transmitted anywhere.

6.2 Data export

If you use the data export feature, the App generates a file on your device containing your data. You decide where to save or send that file. BBXLabs does not receive a copy.

07Purchases

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple's StoreKit and App Store billing (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android), and managed via RevenueCat. BBXLabs receives only a confirmation of the transaction (such as the product ID and purchase date) for the purpose of granting the purchased entitlement. We never receive your full payment card details — those are handled exclusively by Apple or Google.

08Permissions requested by the App

  • Notifications: used to deliver reminders and motivation that you configure (optional). On Android 13+, the app requests the POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission at the end of onboarding.
  • App Tracking Transparency (iOS only, optional): used only to allow personalized ads in the free version via Google AdMob. Premium users are not asked.
  • Google Play Advertising ID (Android only): used by Google AdMob to serve ads in the free version. Controlled by your device's ad personalization settings.

09Children's privacy

Cigless is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10Data retention and deletion

Because your data is stored locally on your device, it remains until you delete it within the App or until you uninstall the App. Uninstalling Cigless removes all locally stored data.

11Your rights

Depending on where you live (EU/EEA, UK, California, and other jurisdictions), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. Because Cigless stores data locally, you can exercise these rights directly inside the App or by uninstalling it. For any data we may hold (such as purchase confirmations or support emails), contact us at legal@bbxlabs.us.

12Security

Cigless's local-first design keeps your data on your device, which minimizes the attack surface. We do not operate servers that store your quit-smoking data. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any data we do process (such as crash reports and purchase confirmations).

13International users

BBXLabs is based in Europe. When we process personal data, we do so in accordance with the GDPR.

14Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, we will also notify you within the App or on the App's listing page.
